[ PhoneLapser ] a Timelapse tool - First Release

PhoneLasper is time-lapse app for use on new, old or ageing Android phones, with or without an SD Card and with a camera. It was born out of me trying to take time lapse footage and constantly breaking relatively expensive cameras. So this allows you to use a cheap phone in places and conditions you wouldn't want to leave expensive cameras.

It will cost you as much as a coffee with a cake costs where I am from in the UK. It collects no data and doesn’t use any online API for core functions so no signup of user profile is required and there is no subscription.

I have developed it using flutter as I wanted to learn the framework. It allows the user to use the phone in a similar way to CHDK.

It currently supports timelapse frames supported by the phone camera via the flutter camera library, these are saved to internal memory or  the SD card as a image sequence. For older phones  I recommend adding a 64GB SD card if you plan to use PhoneLapser as older phones have very little internal storage.

In addition to saving images to your phone It also supports saving timelapse frames to FTP. Note you will need to set up your own FTP server or use an online one.

It has a calendar function so the user can time the start and end time to events such as say a sun rise or sun set for example.

Once you have captured an image sequence you can use the built in offline encoder in the app to create a video that can shared or copied to a Mac or PC for editing. You can of course import the image sequences into your own video editor. Note you will need space on the phone to allow encoding. When you capture allot of footage, encoding it on a PC or Mac is best.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this!
